The exhibition space is flooded with light. An almost carefree, clear play of colors absorbs, reflects and transforms the atmosphere. There is a lightness in the room. The current works of globetrotter Achim Freyer, the internationally active painter and two-time documenta participant, are lucid, abstract, sometimes large-format works.
Freyer is a painter, stage designer, director, costume designer, filmmaker and sculptor - and he is at home in each of these professions. Guided by his skill and instinct, he cultivates his respective field of work with a playful and concentrated manner until, true to his grammar, his vocabulary and the context of the work, an imaginative universe with unmistakable characteristics and colorfulness emerges, which the viewer's mind wants to wander through and complete. Anyone who has ever seen a Freyer will recognize his signature everywhere. His influence on contemporary art is unbroken. At the age of 90, he paints and stages as much as he can.

Lichtdurchflutet der Ausstellungsraum. Ein schnelles, unbekümmertes, klares Farbenspiel, reflektiert, verwandelt die Atmosphäre. Es herrscht Leichtigkeit im Raum. Die aktuellen Arbeiten des Weltengängers Achim Freyer, des international tätigen Malers und zweimaligen documenta-Teilnehmers, sind klare, abstrakte, teils großformatige Arbeiten.
Freyer ist in Personalunion Maler, Bühnenbildner, Regisseur, Kostümbildner, Filmemacher, Bildhauer – und egal in welchem dieser Metiers er zuhause ist. Es leitet ihn sein Können und seinen Instinkt, er beackert sein jeweiliges Arbeitsfeld ebenso verspielt wie konzentriert, solange, bis seine Grammatik, sein Vokabular und dem Kontext des Werkes getreu ein phantasievolles Universum mit unverwechselbarer Charakteristik und Farbigkeit zutage tritt, das im Kopf der Betrachtenden durchwandert und vervollständigt wird. Wer einmal einen Freyer gesehen hat, erkennt seine Handschrift überall wieder. Sein Einfluss auf das zeitgenössische Kunstgeschehen ist ungebrochen. 90jährig malt und inszeniert er, was das Zeug hält.
