Paths or rivers lead the gaze to a distant horizon, which sometimes only appears to be simulated by mighty panels. Fragments of bridges do not come together; and monumental bridges span a vast landscape, but it is unclear what they connect.
Although they never depict concrete situations, the works of Millstatt artist Franz Politzer often evoke a sense of the familiar, of things already seen. As an attentive observer of conspicuous constellations in the landscape, he extracts what they have in common from many impressions and uses them to stage his sophisticated compositions.
Wege oder Flüsse leiten den Blick zu einen weit entfernten Horizont, der manchmal durch mächtige Tafeln auch nur wie vorgetäuscht erscheint. Brückenfragmente finden nicht zueinander; und monumentale Brücken überspannen eine weite Landschaft, aber es ist unklar, was sie verbinden.
Obwohl sie niemals konktete Situationen wiedergeben, erwecken die Arbeiten des Millstätter Künstlers Franz Politzer beim Besucher oftmals das Gefühl des Bekannten, bereits Gesehenen. Als aufmerksamer Beobachter von auffälligen Konstellationen in der Landschaft extrahiert er das Gemeinsame aus vielen Eindrücken und inszeniert daraus seine ausgefeilten Kompositionen.
